Data Center Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain data center infrastructure, including server racks, cabling, and network equipment.
Manage and monitor hardware health, asset inventory, and capacity planning for servers, storage, and network devices.
Perform structured cabling installations, patch panel terminations, and documentation.
Maintain and monitor power systems, ensuring proper load balancing and UPS/generator operations.
Support and manage CRAC/CRAH cooling systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions.
Ensure uptime, redundancy, and compliance with physical security and operational policies.
Coordinate with IT, facilities, and vendors for maintenance, installations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Troubleshoot hardware issues and manage onsite repairs, replacements, or escalations.
Maintain documentation related to rack elevations, cabling maps, and change management logs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience with server rack installation, structured cabling, and power distribution.
Understanding of CRAC/CRAH systems, airflow management, and thermal monitoring.
Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficient in hardware lifecycle management, from provisioning to decommissioning.
Knowledge of data center safety, best practices, and physical security standards.
Preferred Certifications:
CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional)
CDCS (Certified Data Centre Specialist)
Or equivalent data center infrastructure certifications
Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting enterprise-class infrastructure in Tier II–IV data centers.
Exposure to DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools.
Familiarity with disaster recovery setups, remote hands procedures, and compliance frameworks.
