Women in Evolvice: Breaking Barriers, Building the Future

Women in Evolvice: Breaking Barriers, Building the Future

The tech industry has long been perceived as a male-dominated space, but women have been making significant strides, proving that skills, expertise, and leadership transcend gender. At Evolvice, we are proud to have a diverse and talented team where women play key roles in shaping our success.

For many, the path into technology is not linear. Some discover it by chance, others by passion, and some by necessity. But what unites them all is resilience, adaptability, and an unyielding drive to grow. We want to share the journeys of five incredible women at Evolvice who navigated their own unique paths in tech, facing challenges, breaking stereotypes, and contributing to a more inclusive industry.

From Administrative Assistant to COO: Nataliia Maksymenko, COO

“I never planned to enter IT,” says Nataliia. “A friend recommended me for a role at Evolvice, and my fluency in German became my entry ticket.”

A friend recommended her for a role at Evolvice, and her fluency in German became her entry ticket. With no formal education in software development, she embraced the challenge, learning on the go. Over the years, she evolved from an administrative assistant to a QA lead, then a project manager, and eventually, the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

“I had to master technical concepts like SDLC, Scrum, and project management — none of which were part of my background,” she recalls. “But with persistence and the support of my team, I not only caught up but thrived.” She had to master technical concepts like SDLC, Scrum, and project management — none of which were part of her background. But with persistence and the support of her team, she not only caught up but thrived.

Her advice to women in tech: “Doesn’t let gender biases discourage you. IT is about skills and problem-solving, not stereotypes.”

An Accidental Path into Engineering: Kristina Klimova, Mechanical Drafter

“I originally wanted to study IT, but I didn’t get into the program I wanted,” Kristina explains. “So, I went for mechanical engineering instead, while still taking IT courses on the side.”

Still, she refused to give up — balancing her university studies with IT courses and an internship. However, the war and economic crisis disrupted her plans, and she found herself at a crossroads. A recruiter from Evolvice saw her potential and offered her a role in engineering.

Joining an all-male team as the youngest member was intimidating at first. But with time, patience, and an open-minded team, she grew into her role. “Seeing the parts I helped design being physically produced and assembled was incredible,” Kristina shares. “It made me realize how impactful my work truly is.”

Her advice to women in tech: “Challenge stereotypes. It’s wrong to think technical fields are for men. Speak up and insist on your ideas.”

Finding Confidence in Tech: Marwa Mohammed, Senior Quality Engineer

“I’ve always been drawn to technology and problem-solving,” Marwa says. “But my path into IT wasn’t entirely traditional.”

While her education provided a foundation, real growth came from hands-on experience. Early in her career, she battled imposter syndrome and the challenge of proving herself in a male-dominated space.

But as she learned, contributed, and led complex projects, her confidence grew. “One of the most rewarding moments in my career was leading a complex project that had a real impact on our clients,” she shares. “Seeing my work translate into tangible success was a defining point for me.”

Her advice to women in tech: “Believe in yourself. The industry moves fast, so continuous learning is key. Build a network and support other women.”

From Uncertainty to Specialization: Rawan Gamal, Technical Writer

For Rawan, the vastness of IT was both exciting and overwhelming. With a degree in Computer Engineering, she struggled to choose a specialization. But her time at Evolvice helped shape her career. Starting as a junior technical writer, she absorbed knowledge, grew her skills, and built confidence.

“It was surreal when a colleague from another department recognized my voice from the learning center videos,” Rawan recalls. “That moment made me realize that my work was truly making an impact.”

Her advice to women in tech: “Stay updated, embrace challenges, and prioritize work-life balance to avoid burnout.”

A Musician-Turned-QA Engineer: Radmila Haidan, QA Engineer

“I started as a musician, but I wanted a better work-life balance,” Radmila shares. “I took a course in software testing, and it turned into a career I love.”

Trained as a musician, she wanted a better work-life balance, so she took a software testing course. What started as an experiment became a passion, and she hasn’t looked back since.

Her biggest challenge? The flood of new information. But with practice, mentorship, and continuous learning, she transformed from a trainee QA engineer to a valued specialist at Evolvice.

“I still remember my first client demo — I was incredibly nervous,” she admits. “But it turned out to be a great experience, and I gained so much confidence from it.”

Her advice to women in tech: “Be confident, never stop learning, and don’t hesitate to share your ideas.”
